Obituary

CHICOPEE – Margaret E. “Marge” (Kellackey) Blout, 94, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 9, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Hugh J. Kellackey and Clara (Citkowski) Freund. She was raised and educated in Cleveland and moved to Fairview in 1962 where she lived the remainder of her life. She enlisted in the United States Air Force serving as a Radio Mechanic during the Korean War and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. She was a longtime Clerk and Secretary to the Principal at Chicopee Comprehensive High School. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Marge enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting. She also loved to read and solve Crypto and Sudoku puzzles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert Blout who was Called Home on March 3, 2008. They were married on September 15, 1951 in Novato, California and they were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. She leaves her six loving and devoted children, Robert P. Blout and his wife, Lisa, of Duxbury, MA, Barbara A. Pininski and her husband, Donald, of Chicopee, Susan P. Pereira and her husband, Brian, of Springfield, Margaret Blout of Kennebunk, ME, Mary J. Romero of East Falmouth, MA, and Michael Blout of Portsmouth, NH; her nine cherished grandchildren, Carolyn Davies and her husband, Ian, Jeffrey Blout and his wife, Katie, Steven Blout and his partner, Amanda, Jason Pininski, Timothy Pininski and his partner, Molly, Michael Pereira and his wife, Amanda, Christine Couture and her husband, Kurt, Brittany Woodruff, and Coleen Romero; her two cherished great grandchildren, Jack Davies and Maren Couture; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two infant daughters, Karen and Catherine, her two dear brothers, Hugh and James; and her two dear sisters, Eileen and Ellen. A Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
