Yvette A. (Dusseault) Payne, age 85, a resident of Tewksbury for over 45 years, formerly of Saugus and Somerville, passed away at the Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley in Billerica on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by family members.
She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Payne, Jr., who passed away on April 21, 1991.
Born in Lynn, MA on January 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. Dusseault and the late Lucy (Lakin) (Dusseault) DeMille.
Yvette was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School.
Prior to retiring, she worked in the Tewksbury School Lunch Program at the Wynn Middle School and the Louise Davy Trahan Elementary School.
Yvette was a longtime member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Post # 2070 and a former member of the Wilmington Minutemen.
She enjoyed many activities, especially spending time with her grandchildren and family, socializing with friends, and dining at the Jade East Restaurant, where she enjoyed an occasional Mai Tai.
Yvette is survived by her children, Valerie (Savolainen) Mapes, Kenny Savolainen, Donna (DeMille) St. Pierre, Pamela Brubaker, Todd Brubaker and Robert Payne and his wife Jo’ Ann. She leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister, Lucille J. Rowe and her husband Ed, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a prayer service to be offered at 11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
