Obituary

NEWFIELD – Robert “Bob” Joseph Nadeau, age 69, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a courageous battle with multiple health issues.
He was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts on June 15, 1956, the son of Jean “Bob” Nadeau and Claire (Barra) Nadeau. He grew up traveling the world as an Air Force brat. He attended Massabesic High School and earned his GED in 1975. Bob worked as a construction worker, truck driver and factory supervisor at Pepperell in Biddeford. But his favorite and first love was as a gentleman farmer.
Bob loved teaching his nieces and nephews about the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid bird watcher. Bob always had dogs. His dogs were his babies, he was rarely seen without a dog by his side and he spoiled them rotten. He was always looking for adventure. He went on a white-water rafting trip with his mother, sister and nephews. This was a highlight for him. He never stopped talking about his trip to Alaska to visit his adopted sister. Bob was a trivia nut and would constantly surprise people with his knowledge. He shared a major interest in WWII with 2 of his nephews and would spend hours talking to them about it. He never missed a Patriots game, Red Sox game or a race. Bob had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. His nephew said it best, “Uncle Bob could be a pain in the butt but he was a great guy.” For years Bob would host family gathers at his home, his specialty was the big lobster feed in the summers. He was beloved by his sister, nieces and nephews.
Bob is predeceased by his father, mother, sisters Jeanne Cole and Terry Blaisdell, and Brother-in- Scott Dixon. He is survived by his Brother-in-law Ed Cole and his wife Deb of Florida, Sister Priscille Dixon of Newfield, Niece Sara Cole Newport and her husband Paul of Alfred, Nephew Jason Cole and his significant other Nikki Couture of Lyman, Nephew Dennis Blaisdell and his wife Anna of Colorado, Nephew Justin Lish and his wife Amanda of Sanford, Nephew Mical Sanchez-Cole of Biddeford, Nephew Gavin Nadeau Dixon and his significant other Ashlynn Nielsen of Newfield, and 5 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews.
Bob requested there not be a funeral. We will respect his wishes. The family will gather on his 70th birthday to scatter his ashes in his favorite places.
