BIONDO, Petrina P. Lifelong resident of Roslindale, passed away on October 7, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Stephen and Pauline (Bonaceto) Biondo. Dear sister of Claire (Biondo) DiFelice and her husband Peter of Walpole, and the late Frank Biondo.
Petrina went to Girls Latin School where she obtained all A’s and A+’s while there. In 1955 Petrina received a four year scholarship to Emmanuel College where she majored in mathematics and physics. At Emmanuel she solved very complex math equations. She also attended Northeastern University, where she continued to thrive in Mathematics. As an interested student she applied to Harvard night courses where she studied foreign languages, Italian, Spanish and Greek. Petrina was a total interested student. Initially she was told only men could work with mathematics; kudos to Petrina. Petrina worked as a senior scientist at Avco in Everett. She was a longtime faithful parishioner at Holy Name Church.
A visitation will be held at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, October 14th from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Name Church, West Roxbury at 11:30am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
