O’HARA, John “Jack”, 73, of West Roxbury, formerly of Jamaica Plain, October 6, 2025. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna (Salvi), of West Roxbury; his son John and his wife Rebecca of Watertown; daughter Katie Cintolo and her husband Mark of Reading; and son Brian and his partner Karen Botcheller of Dedham. Dear brother of Jean Sheridan and her husband Robert of South Dennis. Jack adored his grandchildren, Ryan, Anna, and Emily Cintolo, all of Reading. Also survived by his sister-in-law, Tina Surette (Salvi), and her husband Ralph of Norwood; his brother-in-law, Frank Salvi, and his wife Linda of Walpole; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Mildred (McLean) and John; his sister, Janet Reid, and her husband, Michael; and his brother-in-law, John Salvi.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Boston and a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School, class of 1969. A longtime employee of Sysco, he made countless friends in his time working as a salesperson for restaurants in and around Boston. Above all else, Jack loved spending time with his beloved family, which is what fueled him to keep fighting for nearly five years after suffering a devastating stroke. Jack’s smile and sense of humor resonated with people wherever he went, and his loss leaves an indescribable void in the lives of all who knew him.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the many friends, neighbors, and healthcare professionals who took such great care of their husband and father over the past several years, including Boston EMS, the staff at Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital, and Donna and Nick Parker.
Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury on Monday, October 13 from 4pm-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend.
