Obituary

Madeline P. “Mady” (Glennon) McInerney, age 89, of Woburn, passed away on October 5, 2025. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of the late Robert E. “Mac” McInerney until his death in 2024.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Barbara (Connolly) Glennon. She was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. She was employed doing clerical work for several Boston firms before she married and began her lifelong journey and true calling as a dedicated mother of 5. Her children recalled that regardless of their busy daily routines, Mady and Mac could be found in the stands and never missed a chance to attend their kids’ activities and sports events.

When they were younger, Mady and Mac enjoyed traveling or square dancing with a local club. In retirement, they were snowbirds and enjoyed spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. In her spare time, she could also be found Irish dancing, bowling, skiing and spending time traveling with friends and family.

Mady is lovingly survived by her children: Robert G. McInerney and his wife Cathleen of Reading, Stephen J. McInerney and his wife Kathleen of Wells, ME, Brian W. McInerney and his wife Christine of Lebanon, NH, Barbara A. Chun and her husband John of Southbury, CT and Deb A. McInerney of Woburn. She was the devoted grandmother of Patricia, David, Brendan, Molly, Wil, Eric, Ellis and Evelyn, the dear sister of Barbara Warner (late Robert) of Winchester, the late Mary Boyack (late Joe) and the late William Glennon and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Friday, October 24, from 8:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 11AM.
