Everett J. Smith, 77, of Main St., Coventry, R.I. died Monday September 2, 2002 in the Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, R.I. He was born in Derry, NH on May 8, 1925, the son of William E.R. and Cora E. (Williams) Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Derry having moved to Cranston and Conventry, R.I. just five years ago. He had attended Derry schools. He enjoyed music, especially playing country western music on his record player. He also played the piano. He was a former member of the Reliance Grange of Derry. He was a volunteer worker for the Derry Parks and Recreation Department serving under Donald Ball. He had also been employed as a product packager for Comstock Industries, Cranston, R.I.
He is survived by his sister, Bertha K. MacDougall, Derry, one aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia G. Belanger in November of 2001.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Thursday September 5th at 1:30pm at the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
