Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON____Casimir “Chuck” Juska-Juskowiak, 75, of West Boylston passed away on Sunday October 5, 2025 with family at his side in the comfort of his home. He was born March 24, 1950 in a Post World War II “Displaced Persons” camp in Munich, Germany to his Lithuanian Mother, Terese (Aylta) and his Polish Father, Viktor Juska-Juskowiak, both who had faced a certain life of misery under a brutal Communist regime. They were not fortunate enough to escape their countries from oncoming Soviet Union forces during the war. The family immigrated to the United States in 1951 and settled in Worcester.

Besides his parents. He was predeceased by his former wife, Dorothy (Cousin) and his cousin Algis Sarkauskas. He leaves behind his beloved wife Alka Abramavicius, sons, Mark and his wife Celina and Michael, sisters, Terese (recently deceased on May 22, 2025) and her husband, Raymond, Bernadette and her husband, Vincent, and four nieces, Christina, Vilia, Rima, and Jennifer. He also leaves several cousins.

Chuck served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. After military service, he took advantage of the GI Bill graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and attaining a certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University. He then started his own business as a financial consultant, focusing primarily on investment management and tax preparation for 30+ years until his retirement in 2015.

Chuck’s two biggest interests were travel and sports. Besides trips to California,Florida, Las Vegas, national parks in Utah and Arizona, he and Alka enjoyed many cruises up and down the east coast from Canada to Panama, and a memorable one to Hawaii. After retirement Chuck and Alka enjoyed being snowbirds, spending a month each in Florida and Myrtle Beach.

Chuck was a lifelong sports fan. He grew up playing basketball, baseball and football with neighborhood friends. He was a self-described Olympics junkie, mostly the summer games. He loved big-time horse racing and attended three triple crown races and made near-annual pilgrimages to Saratoga race course. In his early 50’s he joined the legions of frustrated golfers and loved every minute of it while playing with both new and long-time friends. Yes, he did get a hole-in-one – and it was all skill! Most of all, his biggest passion was playing basketball with friends and was grateful he was healthy enough to play until his late 50’s.

Chuck served in many roles and capacities in the Lithuanian community. He was a lifelong member of Maironis Park and served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Board for 30 years, and is most remembered for his role as Financial Secretary. He initiated the charitable golf tournament each year and many other events that benefited the organization as well as its membership. He also served as an officer at Taupe Lithuanian Credit Union in Boston.
