WEST SPRINGFIELD - Lawrence W. "Larry" Redmond, 80, of West Springfield and a longtime resident of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 4, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life at Vantage Health and Rehabilitation of Hampden surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on June 29, 1945, a beloved son of the late Charles and Marion (Robinson) Redmond. He was raised on Calhoun Street in the North End section of Springfield, graduated from Classical High School and had moved to West Springfield in 1977 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a longtime technician for the Vickers Oil Company in West Springfield. He was "Uncle Larry" to many, larger than life and a fun-loving guy who would give you the shirt off of his back, however, you always wanted to stay on his "good side". He was a friend you always wanted to have in your corner - strong, devoted, and loyal till the end. He leaves his beloved partner, Maureen R. LaFleche of West Springfield; his four loving and devoted children, Brian W. LaFleche and his partner, Michele Thompson, of Springfield, Tracey L. Smith and her husband, Shawn, of West Springfield, Kimberly Redmond, and Christy Foley of West Springfield; his five cherished grandchildren, Kaylie LaFleche, Kelsie LaFleche, Jonathan Thompson, Brianna LaFleche, and Shawn LaFleche; his three cherished great grandchildren, Ivan LaFleche, Ellie Reyes, and Xzavier Rivera; his dear brother, Michael Redmond and his wife, Chris, of Granby; his two dear sisters, Donna Redmond Fitzgerald and her husband, Daniel Fitzgerald, of Springfield and Marilyn Redmond Anderson of West Springfield; his dear sister-in-law, Beatrice M. (St. Martin) Redmond of Springfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Lawrence W."Larry" Redmond, Jr.; his three dear brothers, Robert Redmond, Keith Redmond, and Edward Redmond; his dear brother-in-law, William R. Anderson, Sr.; and his cherished nephew, Timothy J. Redmond. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His Burial will follow the service at Saint Thomas Cemetery, 420 Kings Highway, West Springfield, MA 01089.
