Obituary

Domenic Anthony Gianetti died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on October 5, 2025 in Dennisport, MA at the age of 91.

Domenic is survived by his devoted children: Edward J. Gianetti (Susan) of Franklin, MA; Gina M. Eknaian (Edward) of Dennisport, MA; and his sister, Janet Taddeo (Chris) of Vassalboro, Maine.  He was a cherished grandfather to 4 grandchildren, Jade Eknaian (Alex Deutschman), Nick Gianetti (Ani Mikitarian), Christie Gianetti, and Tate Eknaian (Matt Zajac), his faithful friend Jetty (aka “monsta”), and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Virginia (Ginna) Cusson and his siblings, Albert (Chet) Gianetti, Pauline Elliott, and Eleanor Mullaney.

Dom was born on July 30, 1934 in Franklin to the late Alnesto & Marie Gianetti. He graduated from Franklin High School and enlisted in the US Army. A proud Teamster, he spent most of his career working at Seavers Express in Milford, MA. He met the love of his life, Ginna, at Rossetti’s Restaurant in Medway. Dom & Ginna married and decided to make the Cape their summer home.

Dom enjoyed hunting, fishing & clamming. He loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins & Celtics. He was an avid gardener who could grow anything and as a handyman he was unmatched. He did everything.

Besides his family, his true love was Dennisport, Cape Cod; a legacy he passed on to his entire family. Dom and Ginna retired as snowbirds to Englewood FL, where they made many lifelong friends at Polynesian Village. Dom was the resident Shuffle Board Champ for many years. They enjoyed a full life there!

Dom, “Grampie,” as he was affectionately called in his later years, will be remembered for his unwavering love for friends and family, especially the whole “Cusson Clan.” His legacy of kindness, hard work, resilience, and his easy-going nature will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were lucky enough to know him. He will always be remembered with a smile on his face.

The family extends their sincerest thanks to all of the caregivers from Broad Reach Hospice for their excellent care. Their help during this difficult time was immeasurable.
