Maryellen Buhlman, 81, of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on October 3, 2025.
Born in Boston, November 9, 1943 to the late Robert and Ann (Hartnett) Buhlman, Maryellen grew up in Roslindale, Hyde Park and Dedham, where her ancestors settled from Ireland in the 1840s. Maryellen graduated from Hyde Park High and worked for many years at AT&T.
Maryellen was a Friend of Bill and volunteered in many outreach endeavors. She loved New England travel, Bob Seger, the beach, family parties, and was famous for her astrology readings.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Morrissey, and grandson Kevin Tillett, as well as siblings Ruth Sudbey, Robert Buhlman, and David Buhlman.
Maryellen is survived by her daughter Laura (John) McKiernan of Dedham, daughter Diane (Paul) Gagne, and son John Lenhardt all of Cumberland, RI. She is also survived by sisters Ann Erickson and Judith Gorman of Dedham, and sister-in-law Ellie Buhlman of Roslindale.
She is survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, former husband John Lenhardt, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Monday, Oct. 6 from 4-8pm. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10am (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
