Obituary

R. George Angulo , 94, of Medway, MA formerly of Wrentham, MA, Westbury, NY, and Sun Lakes, AZ died peacefully at home on September 25, 2025 with family at his side. He was the husband of Genevieve (Gavin) Angulo for the past 62 years.

Born Raul George Angulo, on April 22, 1931, the son of the late Arturo and Faustina (Cid), he was born and raised in New York City.

George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of corporal. He was a graduate of Hunter College in New York. While working for Hanover Bank in 1960, he met his future wife, Genevieve Gavin. After becoming a civil servant in 1962, he began working for the New York State Banking Department. George received numerous promotions and retired as a supervising bank examiner after 28 years.

George enjoyed learning, helping others, family gatherings and vacations, the beach, reading, woodworking, music, dancing, and American History.

George is survived by his wife of 62 years Genevieve (Gavin) Angulo, and their children Arthur Angulo and his wife Kitty of Castle Pines, Colorado, Gavin Angulo and his wife Laura of Demorest, Georgia, Kathleen Shipos and her husband Jeff of Medway, MA and Dolores Costa and her husband Bill of Franklin, MA.

George is also survived by his sister Olga Arias of Westbury, NY and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was the brother of the late Arturo Angulo and Marie Renta.
George is also survived by his grandchildren Megan, Gavin, Thomas, Tara, Erin, Olivia, Gavin and Lainey, his step grandchildren Richard, Amanda, and Erika and 9 great grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
