Obituary

LACONIA ---- Angie Gale Carignan passed away Monday, September 29, 2025 surrounded by family and friends as the warm sunshine filled her room and her favorite country music played softly in the background.

Angie was born October 12, 1979 in Laconia. She was a lifelong Laconia resident and graduate of Laconia High School, class of 2001.

Angie loved her arts and crafts and spent many afternoons painting and creating her masterpieces. She loved to give her artwork as gifts, and they are cherished keepsakes in the homes of those who knew her.

Angie highly anticipated two things most in her life, her birthday and Christmas. She would tell you it was her birthday months in advance. Whether you liked it or not, she would sing along to Christmas classics year-round.

Angie was a creature of habit and looked forward to her outings to Walmart where she could dig for treasure in the CD and DVD bins. She also enjoyed her bi-weekly trips to the salon to get beautiful. The girls will surely miss being told, “You’re pretty.”

Angie made friends wherever she went. Her “buddies”, she would tell you she had “one-hundred” but we all know the number to be much higher.

What Angie enjoyed most was being with her mother. Whether it was doing puzzles, playing Uno or Go Fish, she was content with Sue by her side. They enjoyed watching Angie’s favorite movies, Dirty Dancing and Grease, sometimes on repeat.

Angie had an infectious personality that would light up the room. You couldn’t help but love her. She had her moments where she would tell you like it was, but would always follow up with, “You’re nice,” and “Thank you.”

If we are to take any lessons from Angie’s legacy, it would be: slow down, spend precious moments with loved ones, make time for things you enjoy, forgive freely and always choose kindness.

Angie is survived by her loving and devoted mother Sue Carignan, her cousin Ian Clough with whom she had a special bond, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Angie is predeceased by her Meme and Pepe, Uncle Pete, Uncle Chuck and Uncle Moe.

Sue would like to extend her sincere gratitude to the following: Lakes Region Community Services, Winni from Winnipesaukee Mobile Health for all her caregiving, support and friendship, Granite VNA Hospice House and the amazing staff who cared so kindly and compassionately for Angie.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St, Laconia, NH.
