Obituary

Georgia N. (Topulas) Barufaldi, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family. She was born at Turner Air Force Base in Albany, Georgia, daughter of the late Nicholas G. Topulas and Florence (Phillips) Topulas. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Holyoke. Georgia worked as Senior Vice President for BayBank for over 20 years before she retired. She loved to play bridge and had a passion for Trivial Pursuit, but be prepared to lose. Georgia had a loving knowledge of history including WWII and Winston Churchill; US Presidents, visiting their homes and libraries and Ancient Greek History. One of her favorite trips was when she traveled to Greece to celebrate Easter. Georgia is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ghareeb and her husband David A. Ghareeb of Easthampton; her son James M. Barufaldi and his wife Elizabeth Ann Supranovich of Springfield; one sister, Sandra Taylor and her husband Robert of Concord, New Hampshire; two cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth McLaren and Chelsey Ghareeb; two nephews, Jason Taylor and his wife Debbie and Justin Taylor and his wife Kari. She also leaves her life long best friend, Carole Ibsen of South Hadley along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. The family will hold a private service. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church, The Food Bank of Western Mass or an organization of your choice. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
