Philip K. Hallenbeck

Philip K. Hallenbeck, 87, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born on October 29, 1937, to Harvey Hallenbeck and Madonna Collier.
Phil dedicated his career to education, retiring from Muncie Central High School. In his retirement, he found joy in volunteering at Mounds State Park, where he was known to share his knowledge of wood working and love of nature with others.
He is survived by his four daughters, Kelly (Don) Summers, Joanie (Dennis) Rick, Julie (Tom) Krebs, and Jill (Don) Marstall. Grandchildren; Jeffrey (Jenny) Summers, Megan (Baron) Weaver, Morgan Remington, David (Samantha) Rick, Jennifer (Chrys) Cochran, Emily (Callen) Burke and Matthew (Nicole) Marstall. Also fifteen great-grandchildren, with one more expected in October. His sister, Lauretta Gray and sister-in-law Judy Hallenbeck. And very special longtime friend, Tom Parker.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Seigel; and one great-grandchild, Boden Burke.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Northview Health and Living for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Friday October 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a service to follow, officiated by Pastor Will DuBois from Grace Baptist Church, where Phil was a member.
Phil’s love for his family, his dedication to education, and his passion for the natural world will be remembered by all who knew him.
