TAVANXHIU, Margalina of West Roxbury, formerly of Berat, Albania, passed away on September 29, 2025. Loving mother of Andon Manaj. Beloved daughter of the late Andon and Gonxhe Tavanxhiu. Dear sister of Liljana, Xhuljeta, Valentina, Veronika, and the late Pirro. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in the antique city of Berat, Albania - Margalina dedicated her younger years to sculpting the minds of the youth through her kindergarten teacher experience. A career that enabled her to find joy in brightening the minds of the Albania's future.
Later on in life, when she immigrated to United States, she found joy working as a stockroom associate for the Dedham TJMaxx. By keeping a positive attitude and a good work ethic, she enjoyed every minute of it, which showed as well on her daily interactions with her coworkers which she adored. Outside of work, Margalina enjoyed shopping, cooking her traditional Albanian dishes and long walks when she explored National Parks with her son, throughout New England.
A visitation will occur at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday, October 3rd from 10am-11:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
