Much loved brother of Barbara Goldberg and much loved by extended family and many friends, Richard Goldberg of Cambridge, MA, passed away on September 26, 2025 of complications from pneumonia at the age of 79.
Richard’s life revolved around his friends. He loved getting together with them to visit museums, walk outdoors, dine, or just hang out. His gentle spirit and kindness touched everyone he met. He was a very special friend to many.
Richard’s passion was music. Even though he was retired, he played piano and sang every day and took every opportunity to teach others. He was also an accomplished songwriter whose songs delighted friends and others. He was a member of Tunefoolery where he often played at “open mike” venues and until recently performed occasional gigs at nursing homes.
He will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering will be held in the next few weeks
