BELMONT ---- Daniel F. Simonds passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 62, surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born on November 18, 1962, the son of Richard Eugene Simonds, Sr., and Olive May Simonds (Wells) in Laconia, NH. He grew up in Alton and lived most of his life in the state of New Hampshire with the exception of a few years in Las Vegas. Most recently he lived on Durrell Mountain Road in Belmont, NH, where he shared a home with his brother David R. Simonds.
Daniel had a larger-than-life personality. He could be the life of a party with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved a good laugh; he was witty with a quick come back. Then on the other hand, he was a quiet man who kept to himself. He loved the peacefulness and solitude that country life offered. He was a strong-willed man who loved whole heartedly and was loved greatly in return.
Daniel had a great love for animals. He started in his teenage years raising pigeons of all different varieties and he did this off and on his whole life. He raised goats for a while. He loved dogs, leaving behind his precious No-No and Peanut. He loved cats leaving behind Forest, Charlotte, Poncho and Tilly Anne. Having no children of his own, his pets were his children.
Family was very important to Daniel. He was one of seven children. He lived very close to his family and just loved family dinners and get togethers. He loved all his nieces and nephews very much.
Daniel is survived by his sisters Marie Callahan and her husband David of Manchester, NH, Eleanor Hardy of Belmont, NH and Eugenia Clark and her husband Lamont of Belmont, NH, his brother David R. Simonds of Belmont, NH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Richard E. Simonds Jr., and sister Edna M. Cupples.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00am, at Park Cemetery, W. Main Street, Tilton NH.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local animal shelter.
