Thomas “Tom” Hogan, of Stoughton, formerly of South Boston, beloved husband of Louise M. (Foley) Hogan for 57 wonderful years, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 surrounded by family and love. A devoted father, he leaves behind his children: Thomas and his wife Christine of Canton, Kevin and his wife Kathleen Kemp of Uxbridge, and daughter Jennifer Hogan of Stoughton.
He was a cherished grandfather (Pop) to Jessica Todesca and her husband Angelo of Norwood, Sean Hogan of Brookline, and Patrick Hogan of Norwood, and a treasured great-grandfather to Camila “C” Todesca.
Tom was the loving son of the late William and Dorothy “Dot” Hogan, and a dear brother to the late Dorothy “Dixie” (Tom) Peecha of Braintree; the late William Hogan of Kessel, Germany; the late Michael (Jeanne) Hogan of South Boston, Elizabeth (Paul) Mahoney of South Boston, John (Stephanie) Hogan Sr. of Shapleigh, ME; Janet Hogan of South Boston; Patricia (Chris) Sloane of South Boston; Robert (Michele) Hogan of Marshfield; Dennis Hogan of South Boston; AnnMarie Hogan of Harrison, Maine and brother-in-law of Martin (Marti) Foley of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and close friends who will miss him deeply.
Born and raised in South Boston, Tom was the middle child among eleven siblings. After graduating from Southie High, he met the love of his life, Louise, and together they began a beautiful journey in 1968. From raising their kids to spoiling their grandchildren, Tom made sure his family was always cared for, never letting anyone go without.
Tom dedicated nearly five decades to the Boston Public Schools, retiring in 2019 after 49½ years of service as a custodian and later as an Area Manager sporting his prized “City Car” around town. He also spent many joyful years at “Sal’s House of Calzone” in Randolph, where he honed his cooking skills—his legendary calzones became a staple at every gathering.
Whether hosting in their cozy Southie apartment or by the pool in the suburbs, Tom had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. His warmth, humor, and generosity created lasting memories for all who knew him.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Casper Funeral Home 187 Dorchester St South Boston, on Wednesday October 1, 2025 from 4PM-8PM, a Mass of Christian burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Church, South Boston at 10AM on Thursday October 2nd followed by burial services in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joseph “DoDo” Nee Foundation, which honors the legacy of family friend Joe “DoDo” Nee by supporting charitable initiatives throughout the Boston area.
