Faye Childers Jowers, 84, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, September 20, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Allen Arowood officiating. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the funeral home.
Ms. Faye was born July 28, 1941, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Clay Childers and Johnnie Mac Shewman. She worked for Southland Furniture in Fitzgerald in the sewing department and Fleetwood in the sanitary department. Ms. Faye was an avid yard seller. She had a heart for giving, especially when it came to her family.
She is survived by her children: Glenn R. Jowers, Jr. of Broxton, Cheryl & Ed Colber of Jacksonville, Joey & Teresa Jowers of Workmore, Lisa Ball of Fitzgerald, Zane & Jennifer Childers of Ocilla, Chris & Kim Jowers of Fitzgerald and Gene Jowers & Jennifer Brinson of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jennifer Giddens, Chad Ball, Morgan Sumner, Corey Ball, Chris Ball, Geena Collins, Daniel Collins, Jaci Jowers, Rylea Childers, Brody Jowers, Alora Jowers and Clay Childers; great grandchildren: Laylah Giddens, Layton Ball, Gavin Lindsey, Bailey Giddens, Kendall Lindsey, Brystol Kate Giddens, Emberlyn Ball, Jack Ball, and Kohen Krause; brothers: Billy Mac & Teresa Shewman, Leroy & Joanie Shewman and Jerry Thad Childers; nephews Johnny & Jamey Shewman; special friend: Carol & Rob Bonner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn “Rudy” Jowers, a son, David Lee Childers and a brother Buddy Childers.
