Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Rosemary F. (Hallinan) Collamore, 91, a former longtime resident of the Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at The Atrium at Cardinal Drive in Agawam surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Chicopee on October 6, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Robert F. and Gertrude M. (Fennessey) Hallinan. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from the former Holy Name High School in Chicopee and had moved to Springfield where she lived for the remainder of her life. She furthered her education and graduated from the former Westfield State Teacher's College. She was employed as an Elementary School Teacher at the Bowles Elementary School and later worked at the former Alice B. Beal Elementary School, both in Springfield. She was a communicant of Saint Paul Church in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed many wonderful summers at the family summer home in Marion. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Leonard J. Collamore who was Called Home on January 31, 2008. She leaves her two loving children, Robert J. Collamore and his wife, Donna, of Springfield and Mary F. Collamore of Agawam; her cherished grandson, Brian Collamore and his wife, Emily; her dear sister, Gertrude Vigneault of New Jersey; her dear brother in law, Ronald Collamore of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Collamore and Hallinan families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her loving son, David F. Collamore. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109 (Saint Philip Section is the last section on the right going out the back gate on Wilbraham Road). There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101-6307. Until we meet again, those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only we could have you back for just a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will too. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause us pain but you are forever in our hearts until we meet again.
