The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born October 3, 1990, in Tifton, Joe was the son of Becky Massey of Tifton and the late Don Potash. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Eleanor Potash, Emma and James Burgess and Donald and Faye Massey and his great-grandmother, Hazel Massey. He was of the Catholic faith.
Joe will be remembered for his deep love of music, nature, and family. A self-taught guitarist, he taught himself to play with passion and determination, turning music into one of the truest expressions of who he was. Whether he was playing for others or simply strumming for himself, his music brought joy, comfort, and connection to those around him. Music festivals were a favorite part of his life, a place where he was surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him in return. He also loved spending time outdoors and often enjoyed being in nature. What brought him the greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved most. He shared an especially close bond with his cousins, Randi Lynn and Erica, and cherished his nieces, Ainslee Nova and Lucy Andersyn. Joe also had a tender place in his heart for his pets, especially his beloved cat, Lil Fang. Joe’s unique spirit, one-of-a-kind nature, and warm heart will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Joe is survived by his parents, Becky and Michael Massey of Tifton; his significant other, Melody Fulp-Linder of Woodstock; one brother and sister-in-law, Zach and Haylei Weeks of Tifton; two sisters, Emily Potash of Boston, Massachusetts and Sara Beth Massey of Athens; two aunts, Amy (Cass) Waldrop of Valdosta and Michele Massey of Tifton; and an uncle and his wife, Jerry and Susan Potash of Florida.
