Tiem Van Nguyen, 80, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, September 15th, 2025 at UMass Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in An Giang, Vietnam, Tiem was the son of Ha Van and Khoa Thi Nguyen. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Tiem lived a full and rich life, devoted to his family and his work. After earning his bachelor's degree in Vietnam, he served with honor in the Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked on his family's rice farm, dedicating his life to farming until his retirement.
In 1992, Tiem and his family immigrated to the United States, where he continued to find joy in being surrounded by his loved ones. He especially cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest pride and joy.
Tiem is survived by his beloved wife, Nghiem Thi Nguyen; four sons, Thanh Viet Nguyen, Trung Viet Nguyen, Dung Viet Nguyen, and Thao Viet Nguyen; a daughter, Bich Thuy Thi Nguyen; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His family will hold calling hours on Thursday, September 18th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, MA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19th, beginning at 9:30am in the funeral home, with a period of visitation from 8:30am until the start of the service. Cremation will follow at Rural Crematory, 180 Grove Street, Worcester, MA.
Tiem will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
