Angela Serrano De Avila, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Carlos Martinez officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at The Paulk Funeral Home, in Fitzgerald and beginning two hours prior to the funeral services on Wednesday.
Mrs. Serrano De Avila was born April 30, 1950, in Cutaro, Guanajuto, Mexico, to the late Jesus Serrano & Maria De Jesus Serrano Ramirez. She had lived in the community for 28 years and was a retired machine operator for Golden Boy, formerly known as American Blanching. Mrs. Serrano De Avila loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. A highlight of her day was going to Tienda Mexicana La Estrella with her son, which gave her the opportunity to engage and spend time with the people in the community. She was a member of Monte De Sion.
She is survived by her eight children: Jose Luis Avila Serrano & Fabiola Avila, Pedro Avila Serrano, Delia Montero & Martin Montero, Heriberto Avila Serrano & Elena Avila, Elena Guerra & Isidro Guerra, Gerardo Avila Serrano & Tita Avila, Luz Maria Jimenez & Rafael Jimenez and Jaquelin Avila Serrano; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and two brothers. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Avila and eight siblings.
