James M. Quinlan, 81, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Halifax and Avon, died peacefully on August 31, 2025 at home with family.
Born in Quincy on January 14, 1944, he was the son of the late James Parker Quinlan and Clara (LeMeaux) Quinlan. Jim worked at GTE for many years and was a member of the United States Army for 4 years.
He was the devoted and loving husband to the late Marian P. Quinlan for 49 years, and loving father to Rebecca Sprague and her late husband Steven, and Rachel Mott and her husband Seth. Brother to Barbara Dow and her late husband Kenneth, Elizabeth Dewey, Bernadette Lambus, Jean Badmington and her husband Robert, and the late Daniel Quinlan and his late wife Kathleen.
Jim is also survived by 12 grandchildren. The children of Rebecca, Joshua Mowles, Allisandra Mowles, and Jacob Mowles and his wife Alison, and the children of Rachel, Nathanael Mott and his wife Victoria, Elijah Mott and his wife Sandra, Marian Fletcher and her husband Ethan, Gabriel Mott and his wife Alie, Solomon Mott and his wife Alexis, Gloria Mott and her fiancé Anthony Cleary, Isaiah Mott, Samuel Mott, and Gideon Mott. In addition, he is survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Nashua, Brighton, Brayden, Brielle, Axel, Julian, Genevieve, Atticus, Annabel, and Bennett. Also excitedly anticipating the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren due in November to Elijah and Sandra, and due in March to Jacob and Alison.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, 429 Monponsett Street, Hanson. Refreshments will be served after the service.
