Obituary

Chastity Marie (O’Day) Baldwin, 53, a lifelong Lowell resident passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, September 7 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of George K. Baldwin with whom she had spent the past 27 years with and married for 24. 

Born on September 4, 1972 in Lowell, she was a daughter of James T. O’Day and Christina (Christakos) O’Day, both of Dracut, MA.  She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Dracut High School with the class of 1990.

Chas loved crafting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a soft spot for animals and she loved racing. She raced stock cars for a period of time and was also involved in her husband's racing career at Hudson Speedway in Hudson, NH. She not only enjoyed spending time at the beach but loved to be there any chance she could. She would light up any room she walked into and will be remembered as funny and outgoing.

Besides her husband, George, and her parents, Jim and Christina, she is survived by her 3 children, William Barnard of Laconia, NH, David Barnard of Belmont, NH, Amanda Barnard of Dracut; her 3 grandchildren, Natalia Baldwin, Bella Baldwin and Adonis Barnard; her siblings, James S. O'Day of Mont Vernon, NH, Mark O'Day and his wife, Kelly, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christina Page of Lowell; Tim O'Day and his wife, Gwenn, of Dracut; many nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles; and her mother in law, Jaqueline Baldwin of Lowell.

On Monday, September 15 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816. You are also welcome to attend her funeral service which will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. followed by procession to Westlawn II Cemetery for burial.
