Mary L. Lambert, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born on July 30, 1949, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Lambert and the late Bridget (Hennessy) Lambert. As an infant, Mary’s family relocated to Tewksbury, where she was raised and educated. She spent much of her youth around Silver Lake, a place that always held a special place in her heart.
Mary was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. She raised her children on her own, balancing the demands of work and family with grace and determination. Her courage was perhaps most evident when, eight years ago, she underwent a double lung transplant. At the time, her doctors offered a new experimental treatment to offer more people a chance and Mom and her friend were lucky to be chosen. Mary defied the odds, recovering swiftly and fully despite her age and health challenges. She embraced the gift of those years with gratitude and joy.
A woman of deep faith, Mary was a devoted communicant of Saint Dorothy’s Parish, faithfully attending weekly Mass. She was also among the founding members of “Helping Hands,” a group dedicated to serving others, where she generously offered her time and support to anyone in need.
She leaves her daughter, Sharon Leach, and her husband, Merle “Skip” Leach of Florida; her son, Bill Wilson, and his wife, Laurette of Tyngsboro; and her cherished grandchildren, Lindsey and Donovan Leach of Florida, and Scott and Matt Flynn of New Hampshire. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Mary was blessed with many lifelong friendships, including Jackie and Cathy Dean of Tewksbury, and Cathy and Bill Chandler of Florida, whose companionship enriched her life in countless ways.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Keith Lambert Wilson, and her siblings John Lambert, Paul Lambert, Elizabeth Parker, and Joseph Lambert.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mary’s visitation on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA. Her funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Tewksbury Cemetery.
