Obituary

Chester F. DeMichelis, 88, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Luise G. (Gansler) DeMichelis, with whom he shared sixty years of marriage before she passed away in 2020.

He was born in Lowell on March 5, 1937 and was a son of the late Modesto DeMichelis and the late Anni (Tennerini) DeMichelis. He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools.

He served his country with the Army National Guard for 9 years before his honorable discharge.

Chester worked for over thirty years at Prince Macaroni as a machinist before his retirement. He was a member of the Thursday night bowling league at Brunswick in Lowell, representing Prince for over twenty years. In addition to Prince, he also worked at Old Mother Hubbard for a number of years.

He was always willing to go out of his way to help others, family was his world and patience was a virtue of his.

Chester is survived by his children Alan DeMichelis and his wife, Patricia of Loudon, NH, and Elise Christman and her husband, Peter of Lowell; six grandchildren, Jon DeMichelis, Ashley DeMichelis, Christa DeMichelis, Shawn Christman and his wife, Hilliary, Tanya Hamilton and her husband, Daniel, and Alex Christman; and 3 great grandchildren, Kennedy Elise Christman, Scarlett Estelle Christman and Wulf Frank Hamilton, his daugher in law, Jeannette DeMichelis of Sandown, NH.

He is also survived by his sister Margaret Marriott of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, the late Paul DeMichelis, his siblings, the late Chester DeMichelis, the late Rinaldo DeMichelis, the late Comie DeMichelis, the late Antoniette DeBerardinis, the late Mary Brunelle, the late Lucy Kleomia, the late Theresa Ann Ozella and the late Josephine Feehan.

You are welcome to join the family for his funeral on Friday, September 12 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 260 Gorham Street, Lowell, MA followed by his interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.
