Lola (Laverne) Gray, 63, of Cameron, Texas, formerly of Fitzgerald, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, September 2, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. John Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Ms. Gray was born August 29, 1942, in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Charles C. Troupe and Zelphann Davis Troupe Tanner. She had lived in Cameron, for the past 14 years where she was the Assistant Manager of the Cameron Country Club. She grew up in Douglas and was a member of the Church of Christ Faith.
Ms. Gray is survived by three daughters: Charlene Joiner of Ocilla; Paula Crowe of Milano, Texas and Michelle Grimsley of Fitzgerald; three sons: James Howard “Bo” Matthews, II of Lorena, Texas; Michael Gray and Kevin Gray both of Fitzgerald; eleven grandchildren; three brothers: Charles Troupe and Joseph Troupe both of Douglas; Dewey Troupe of Orange County, Florida; one sister: Maxine Marek of Cameron, Texas. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail Matthews
