Obituary

CHICOPEE – Ronald A. St. George, 79, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on June 2, 1946, a beloved son of the late Joseph R. St. George and Pearl A. (Tracy) St. George. He was raised in Holyoke and graduated in 1964 from Holyoke High School. He furthered his education and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1975 from Western New England College in Springfield. He moved to Chicopee in 1952 where he lived for most of his life. He served in the Army National Guard. Ronald was a Scheduler and Machine Operator at the Brown Paper Company and Hampden Paper Company, which was later Hazen Paper Company, both in Holyoke, and the Sullivan Paper Company in West Springfield. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and was previously a communicant at the former Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and the former nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. He will be deeply missed by all of his family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Denise (Shaw) St. George who was Called Home on April 3, 2020. He leaves his loving daughter, Jody L. Peltier and her husband, Bruce, of Granby; his cherished grandchildren, Michael B. Peltier and his wife, Kayla, of Granby, Jennifer Mulcahy and her husband, Darell, of Ware, and Kimberly Santiago and her husband, Erik, of Florida; his dear brother, Kenneth R. St. George and his wife, Sally, of Chicopee; his two dear nephews, Shawn St. George and his wife, Karen, of Chicopee, and William St. George of Lewiston, ME; his dear niece, Shelly St. George of Chicopee; his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. His funeral will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the Mass.
