Donna Lee Paulk Dedonis, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Forrest Donald “Donnie” Paulk and Betty Taylor Paulk. Donna graduated from the Georgia Baptist nursing program of Mercer University as a RN. Mrs. Dedonis participated in show dog confirmation and had top winning Old English Sheep Dogs and English Springer Spaniels. She would later go on to do fly-ball racing with her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Scrappy. Mrs. Dedonis loved wildlife photography and was an excellent cook. She was very accomplished woman who excelled and helped her community in Gainesville, GA, where she was a part of the planning board and received a key to the city.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, of 47 plus years, James L. Dedonis, of Florence, SC; daughter, Kathryn Lorena Dedonis, of Carson City, NV; son, Zachary Alexander (Brandalyn), of Batesburg, SC; sister-in-law, Kay Dedonis, of Lakewood, CO; and brother-in-law, Gerry Dedonis, of Perote, Mexico.
Donations, in her honor, may be made to the Jayne H. Boswell Animal Shelter, 1434 South McCurdy Road, Florence, SC 29506.
