Obituary

WEBSTER – Robert S. Kokernak, 95, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at home in the presence of his family. His wife of 63 years, Lorraine B. (Savageau) Kokernak, died in 2018.

He leaves a son, Gary R. Kokernak and his wife Christine of Dudley; a daughter, Kim B. Fafard of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Ian M. Fafard and his wife Nicole of Oxford, Tyler G. Kokernak and his wife Moria of Sturbridge, and Drew R. Kokernak of Dudley; a great-grandson, Nathan M. Fafard; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Morris Ashley and Walter Kokernak and by 2 sisters, Alice Grzelecki and Eleanor Gadoury.

He was born in Webster on May 6, 1930, a son of Stephen and Bertha (Fuchs) Kokernak and attended the former Bartlett High School Trade School.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Kokernak first worked at Cranston Print Works Company and then for 15 years for Reliable Painters in Dudley, He retired as an assembler at Jamesbury Corporation in 1995.

He was a Jack of All Trades and master of several. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to assemble model ships. His life centered on his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandson.
