Phyllis Salloway, 87, was a lifelong Massachusetts resident, born and raised in Dorchester and Newtonville before marrying her beloved husband, Joel M. Salloway.
Her career was devoted to education, first as an assistant librarian at Briscoe Junior High and later for 24 years at North Shore Community College in Beverly and Danvers, where she worked until her retirement in 2004. Phyllis had many passions, especially music and the arts. She loved playing the piano, swimming, singing and dancing.
Known for her intelligence, kindness, and grace, she was cherished by family, friends, and, in recent years, by the residents and staff of Charter Senior Living of Danvers, where she found much happiness.
She leaves behind her three daughters, Sharon, Rebecca and Jennifer, who will always remember her with love.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 31st, 12 Noon at Maple Hill Cemetery, Workman’s Circle, Peabody. Donations in Phyllis’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a any food donation program.
