Gail Marie (Koch) Miller, 71 of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Tewksbury Hospital after a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
She was born on July 19, 1954 and was a daughter of the late Ernest Peter Koch and the late Sara May (Onners) Koch.
Gail's mother was young when Gail was born and needed additional support. Gail spent some of her childhood with her foster mother, Sadie Kluf in Princeton, MA before returning to live with her biological mother and stepfather, Joseph Burock in Worcester, MA when she was 12 years old. Gail helped take care of her mother until her passing in 1997.
As a young woman, Gail thrived and worked as an occupational therapist at Northshore Arc for four years, and was a sex offender counselor at Stetson School for five years. Caring for and talking to others brought Gail great joy. When Gail began to experience more symptoms of her illness she was unable to continue working and sought community supports and was able to remain active in the community until going to Tewksbury Hospital in 2015. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jewelry, fashion, and attending church services.
Gail will be missed by her friends at Tewksbury Hospital. She is also remembered by her 2 stepsisters, Toby and Louise, as well as her longtime companion, Robert “Bob” Tremblay.
On Thursday, September 4, 2025 her calling hours will take place from 2 - 4 p.m. at Tewksbury State Hospital Chapel, Saunders Building, 1st floor, 365 East St Tewksbury MA
