John Aldsworth Cumbee Jr., 89, of Albany, Georgia, passed away on August 11, 2025.
Mr. Cumbee was born in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late John Aldsworth Cumbee Sr. and Oma McCall Cumbee. He grew up in Ocilla and later made his home in Albany, where he spent most of his life surrounded by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Albany; two daughters, Deborah Long (Pearce) of Albany, GA, and Selena Bridges (Darren) of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Caroline Holliday (Ryan) of Charlotte, NC, Abigail Marsteller (Harrison) of Atlanta, GA, Davis Long (Sara Beth) of Flora, MS, Shepherd Bridges of Atlanta, GA, and Annabel Bridges of Atlanta, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Collins Holliday, Webb Marsteller, and Wyatt Long. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew Joe and Laura Cumbee of Fitzgerald, GA, as well as his nephews, Eric Cumbee of Statesboro, GA, Clay Cumbee of Atlanta, GA, and Lee Cumbee of Fitzgerald, GA. John was preceded in death by his first wife, the mother of his daughters, Ann Collins Cumbee.
John will be remembered for his devotion to family and the warmth and humor he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
