Obituary

We are saddened to say that on Aug. 22, 2025 James Brown age 72 of Lowell/Tewksbury Massachusetts has lost his ongoing battle with cancer while at home surrounded by loved ones.

Anyone who had the honor to meet him will say he was a legend! One of the greatest! Always willing to help people in any way, while cracking a joke or swearing at you, never knew which way it would go but you always knew it was love.

If you knew Jimmy then you know you could find him spending time with his kids and grandkids, working on something, sitting in the front yard of all his stuff talking to friends and lifelong neighbors, or down at his favorite bar Kilkenny’s with his great friend Dickie, where he met some amazing people.

He will always be remembered for being the best dad/grandpa even to all the neighborhood kids, a great friend, and someone that never had a problem speaking his mind, stubborn some would say but he was a fighter and didn’t go out without a fight.

James Brown could never be forgotten; everyone has a story or memory to share about him. So keep those memories flowing!

James Brown leaves behind his three daughters, Christina, Shanon, Samantha, his son James, his son in-law Michael Foote, five grandkids, Kristallee and Kyle Brown, Liliana, and Skyla Foote, and Mason Townsend, three sisters Debbie, Jerri, and Sandy, his nephew Kenny Ott, and lifelong friend Phil Bucchio. Plus, many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

He is pre-deceased by his son Joey Brown, daughter Micheala Brown, longtime partner Suzanne McGuire, stepdaughter Mary McGuire, and brother and sister Ronnie Brown and Carol Mucci.

Calling hours are Sunday, September 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury.
