Obituary

NEW HAMPTON – Trisha M. Sargent, 60, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Concord Hospital–Laconia.

Trisha was born October 28, 1964, in Laconia to Robert M. and Grace (Souard) Vachon, Sr.

As a youth, Trisha grew up and attended schools in Meredith. She was a mother of three children and a grandmother of six grandchildren. Her family was everything to her, and she loved caring for and being with them whenever she could. She enjoyed cooking and was often heard saying, “Everything I make is good because I make it with love!” (and she wasn’t wrong).
Trisha battled cancer for the past 30 years. This presented many challenges for daily living; however, she always managed to find joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved horror movies, fireworks, collecting coins, bird watching and daisy & lilac flowers. She also loved listening to Hank, Willie & Waylon. She was everyone’s personal cheerleader and biggest fan. All of us who knew Trish, knew she especially enjoyed lounging around in her flannel nighties, cranking up the AC, and eating snacks—basically living the dream.

Trisha had a huge heart and helped everyone she could when they were in need or down on their luck. She was sassy, smart-mouthed, and funny, but her love for people ran deep, and she had many friends who cared for her in her final years when her mobility was limited.

Family members include her daughter Susan Sargent, & sons Justin and Jacob Sargent; six grandchildren whom she loved immensely and was so proud of—Gracehelen and Logan Lewis, and Isabella, Scotty, Juliahnna, and Chloe Sargent; sisters (and best friends) Rhonda Keenan and Sheila Tharpe; as well as several nieces and nephews and Godchildren whom she adored. She also leaves her ex-husband, life-long friend and giant thorn in her side, Scott Sargent.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her young son, Scotty Sargent, and her beloved baby brother, Robert M. Vachon, Jr.

Calling hours will be Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Trisha’s memory to The Mayhew Program 293 West Shore Road, Bristol, NH 03222 – a cause close to her heart. She’d also probably suggest you treat yourself to some yummy snacks in her honor!
