Charles H. Cooper III
...Korean War Navy Veteran; 74
TEWKSBURY - Charles Henry Cooper III, age 74, a Korean War veteran, died Friday morning,
August 25, at the Tewksbury Hospital, after a long period of declining health.
He was born in Cambridge, on October 9, 1931, a son of the late Charles H. Cooper Jr., and
Leona (Labbie) Cooper. He was raised in Cambridge and Lowell, and had lived in Lowell the
greater part of his life. He had been in residence at Tewksbury Hospital for many years.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy, and was awarded the National Defense
Medal.
When his health allowed, he was employed as a laminate pressman at Reiss Associates in Lowell.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol West and her husband Richard of Nashua,
NH; two sons, Charles H. Cooper IV of Hoosick, NY, William A. Cooper of Tewksbury; four
grandchildren, Michael Noel, Misty Noel, Alea Jane Kenney, and Jessie Cooper; one great granddaughter,
Brianna Noel; and his former wife Elizabeth White of Nashua.
He was also brother of the late William Cooper and Marie Cooper.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday morning,
Aug. 29, in the Chapel at Tewksbury Hospital in the Saunders Building. Burial with
Navy Honors was at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the
Tewksbury Hospital, Patient Fund, c/o Administration, 365 East St. Tewksbury, MA 01876 will
be appreciated.
