Alexis Zirger, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. A beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend to many, Alexis lived her life with a radiant spirit that touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick, her daughters Alison (Michael) Quagan and Amanda (Stephen) Smith, and her precious grandchildren, Sam, Olivia, Ben, Cali, and Maia. Alexis was also reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Jenn, who surely welcomed her with a big smile and open arms.
Alexis spent her career as a dedicated nurse- a role she was incredibly proud of. Her natural compassion, calm demeanor, and gentle care made her a source of comfort to countless patients and families throughout the years. Alexis had a special fondness for the beach, particularly in Rockport, Massachusetts, where she spent many summers as a child. She also loved to go on lunch dates and take walks with Rick, make jewelry, do crossword puzzles, and play cards and Scrabble with her friends.
Alexis will be remembered most for her kindness, warmth, and the unmistakable sound of her contagious laugh. She carried a quiet strength and grace that made everyone feel at ease in her presence. She loved deeply and unconditionally, always putting family first. Her siblings held a special place in her heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, at 3:00 at Gather 360 at Mago Point, 360 Rope Ferry Road in Waterford. To honor Alexis' vibrant and colorful personality, her family respectfully asks that anyone attending services wear bright, cheerful colors instead of black. This will be a celebration of her life and the light she brought into the world.
