Lucy (Raposa) Cambra. Age 89. Wife of the late John A. Cambra. Residence 495 New Boston Rd., Fall River, MA formerly of 45 Edmond St., Somerset, MA. Died Thursday at Kimwell Nursing Home. Born in Swansea, MA. Daughter of the late Antonio Raposa. She was a Somerset resident for 59 years. Before retiring, she was a Sewing Machine Operator in the local needle industry. She was a member of Bristol County Elders Group. She was a member of St. John of God Church.
She is survived by One Daughter: Judy Chase of Charlotte, N.C. One Sister: Kay Souza of Warren, RI. Four Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Edward R. Cambra and sister of the late John and David Raposa, Bella Costa, Mamie Audette, and Beatrice Ferreira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home,1521 N. Main St. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset, Ma. at 9:00 A.M. Burial in cemetery is private. Calling hours Friday Sept. 1, 2006, 4-8 P.M.
