Louise Ida Schram, 1934-2025; 90 years, Mother and a Retired Registered Nurse from the South Shore Hospital:
Longtime resident of Rockland and Brantrock, Mass. formerly of Whitman, Mass. passed away tonight on August 16, 2025, after succumbing to poor health due to her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease at the Accent Care Hospice located in Milton. Mass.
She is survived by her Son’s John Jr., James and Joseph D Schram, Sister in-law Jean (Schram) Gallagher, one grandson-James D ‘s Jr., two great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her Husband - John D Schram Sr., Father- Lawrence W. Phillips Sr., Mother-Ida M. (Landry) Phillips, her Brother - Lawrence G. Phillips, his Wife - Helen M. (Sexton) Phillips, Sister - Paula M. Phillips, and Brother-in-law - James G. Gallagher
Louise graduated from Massachusetts’s Whitman High School in 1952; She went on to study and graduate from Labouré School of Nursing and started her Nursing Career at the South Shore Weymouth Hospital. Where she met and married her husband in 1957, while working at the South Shore Hospital as a Delivery Room Nurse, later in her career she transferred to the Geriatrics Ward (5 Pratt North). She also went back to school in the 1980s in order to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts College prior to retiring from the Hospital after 38 years of service. She also volunteered her time to be a Webelo Cub Scout’s Den Mother and sometimes as a Town’s Public School’s Field Trip
Chaperone during her kid’s young formative years. She was an avid Book reader of Harlequin Romance Novels and could finish one in 3 days, also as a Cook and Baker and was renowned for her cooking skills amongst her friends and family She loved to play video and card games some of her favorites where Euchre, Hearts, Wisk, Bridge, Pinocle, Solitaire, Mario Bros and Zelda to just name a few, a Gardener (Weed Puller), she loved roses and making flower arrangements with them. During her retirement she also spent time and lived at the Live Oaks RV Resort located in Arcadia Florida where she enjoyed RV
Camping, Traveling, going to the Beach, Fishing and attending Tampa Bay Devil Ray’s Spring Training and Everglades Hockey, she also was involved with the American Legion, Elks, Lions Club, and Moose Lodges with her husband. She was also a Labouré Alumni and loved spending time with Family and Friends, and our loss will be greatly felt by all.
Family and friends are welcome to attend her visitation on Thursday, August 21st from 6pm-7:30pm immediately followed by a funeral service at 7:30pm.
