Margaret “Ruth” Lemieux, 87 of Waterman Lake Drive, Glocester, died on August 9, 2025, with her family by her side at Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville. She was the widow of Russell R. Lemieux. They had been married for 60 years at the time of his death in 2016.
Born in Lincoln, RI, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Rounds) Cadorette. She lived in Glocester since 1956. She enjoyed living on Waterman Lake Reservoir and swimming and boating with her family. She was instrumental in acquiring the dam rights for Waterman Lake Reservoir.
Along with her husband and four sons, they established the family-owned business, Inland Marine on June 1, 1975. She also worked as a school lunch lady for the Town of Foster/Glocester school system.
Ruth was a faithful member of the Greenville Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon and was a longtime member of the choir. She also enjoyed quilting and writing poems.
She was the mother of Russell A. Lemieux, Ross D. Lemieux and his wife, Jean, Randall E. Lemieux and his wife, Tina and the late Richard E Lemieux. She was the grandmother of Geoffrey Lemieux, Jessica Layden, Ashley Gonyea, Kaithlyn Lemieux, Amy Lemieux-Foisy, Lauren Cross and the late Mark Lemieux and his wife, Carrie. She was the great grandmother of Kiera Lemieux, Eliana Gonyea, Avery and Cole Layden, Penelope Foisy and Harper Cross. She was the sister of Edward Cadorette of South Carolina and Joan Savoie of Florida.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10am in Greenville Baptist Church, 582 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery in Glocester. All are welcomed.
