Alice Janelle, 90

Alice (Perry) Janelle, age 90, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the Brockton Post Acute Care Skilled Nursing Facility in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Janelle, to whom she was wed for fifty-eight years at the time of his death on January 28, 2013.
Born in North Dighton, MA on September 10, 1934, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Carolina (Vargas) Perry.
Alice grew up in North Dighton and Norton and was a 1952 graduate of Norton High School. She had made her home in Norton for the past eighty-three years and prior to retiring was an Office Worker at Londonderry Graphics in Pawtucket and Attleboro. She previously was employed at Leading Edge in Canton and at Wells Manufacturing in Attleboro.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton, Alice was also a member of the Friends of the Norton Seniors and a former volunteer at the Norton Council on Aging. Alice’s adoring family always came first and the love she showed to her dog “Sandy” was unconditional. She was also a talented painter and enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Deborah A. Leary and her husband Joseph of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexandra Hatch and her husband Jacob of Maine, Jason Leary of Dighton and the adoring great grandmother of RJ Hatch of Maine and Emma-Jean Hatch of Maine. She was the dear twin sister of the late Florence Rezza. She was the adoring godmother of Joseph Rezza of North Attleboro, Steven Lapalme of Norton and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 15th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Her funeral will begin on Saturday, August 16th at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the
Norton Common Cemetery in Norton.
