LACONIA --- Mary Louise (Brisse) Jacques, 87, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
She was born on February 26, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to Bernard and Mary Catherine (Clarke) Brisse. When she was five years old, her family, including her sisters Carole and Katherine, moved to Franklin Street, in Lakeport, NH. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1956 and went on to attend Mount Saint Mary’s College.
After serving as an educator in the community, Mary Lou married Richard Jacques in 1960, and together they raised six children in the south end of Laconia, NH.
She worked at Lakes Region General Hospital for 21 years as an EKG technician. In retirement, she spent her days with her children and played an important role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was a woman of deep faith who prioritized God and family above all else. She loved to stay busy cooking, cleaning, and knitting. A passionate New England sports fan, she especially loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed reading and kept her mind active with crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Mary Lou cherished being surrounded by her family and friends, including the furry ones. She delighted in hearing about their lives and loved to laugh.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and her son Joseph. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Bernard Jacques and his wife Crystal, Carrie Jacques, Patty Boucher, Paul Jacques, and Mary “Mitzi” Tucker and her husband Steve. Her grandchildren and their spouses include: Morgan Jacques-Dennis and her husband Travis, Gabe Maldonado and his wife Briane, Tamara Cruz and her husband Michael, Chad Boucher and his wife Brianna, Chelsea Boucher, and Lydia, Carson, and Caden Tucker. Her great-grandchildren are Kellen, Declan, Lucas, Laila, Miles, and Oliver (Ollie). Mary Lou is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
