Clarence Franklin “Frank” McRae, Sr., 84, of Eustis, Florida, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Waycross Health & Rehab in Waycross, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. McRae was born September 8, 1940, in Mount Vernon, Georgia, to the late C.F. & Myrtie Moran McRae. After graduating high school, he served his country honorably in the Army National Guard. He formerly owned and operated McRae Feed & Seed in Apopka, Florida. He later worked for Florida Power for 32 years. He enjoyed his many years living in Cassia, enjoying his land, junking and tinkering. He was affectionally known as Bibs for wearing his trademark overalls.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Prince McRae of Eustis, Florida; sons: John Scott McRae & Tammy of Alma and Col. Clarence Franklin “Mack” McRae, Jr. (USAF) & Wendy of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter, Chris & Mark Harper of Eustis, Florida; step-son, Lance Lowery of Atlanta; grandchildren: Aila McRae, Paige & Kacee Johnson, Delaney McRae, Addison Harper, Joshua Harper, Rene’ Lowery and Ryan Lowery; and several great-grandchildren including Kolter Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris and Irene.
