SOUTH WATERBORO- James “Jim” Curtis Gerry
March 6, 1944 - August 5, 2025
James Curtis Gerry, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Waterboro, surrounded by all his family.
James was born to Harriet Mary Gerry and Earland C. Gerry of Newfield. He was one of six siblings and was predeceased by his oldest sister, Beverly Acheson, in 2001.
James devoted 60 years of his life to his beloved wife, Sandra Lepage Gerry of Waterboro. Together, they built a beautiful family and created countless cherished memories.
James was a business owner and entrepreneur in Limerick and Waterboro. He owned Global Auto Salvage in Limerick for 10 years and operated Down East Auto in Waterboro since 1986, working alongside his two sons over the years. He was a devoted father to three children: daughter Kimberlee Willette and her husband Mark of Saco; James S. Gerry and his wife Kathy of Waterboro; and Curtis E. Gerry and his wife Jehn of Waterboro. He spent many years building, working, and racing stock cars alongside his two sons, creating memories with his cherished daughter and sons that will last a lifetime.
James was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory always. His life was a living testimony of Matthew 25:35-36, as he always had an open door and helping hand for anyone in need. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and always used his platform to spread the word of God. As an ordained chaplain who conducted prison ministry, he dedicated his life to serving others and sharing his faith. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his kindness, his generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He is survived by his brothers Gene Gerry and his wife Marlene of Newfield; Bernie Gerry and his wife Kathy of Kentucky; his sisters Gloria Dyer and her husband Larry of Newfield; and Marge Calabrese of Hawaii.
James’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the family who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude for the time they shared together.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time, with special gratitude to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care during James’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Northern Light Home Care and Hospice in James’s memory.
A celebration of life will be held privately for family and close friends
