Obituary

WEIRSDALE, FL – Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Latour) Miller, 90, of Weirsdale, Florida and a longtime resident of Doverbrook Estates in Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, June 27, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 10, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late William and Jane (Clark) Latour. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Weirsdale, FL on August 31, 2020. She was a banquet waitress for the Castle of Knights in Chicopee and the Banquet Captain at the Holiday Inn in Holyoke. She previously was employed at Acme Chain and National Blank Book, both in Holyoke and at Cycles in Chicopee. She was a longtime volunteer at the Fairview Knights of Columbus Council 4044 in Chicopee where she could be seen dressed as Betsy Ross on the 4th of July, a Pilgrim at the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, and Mrs. Claus at many Christmas parties. She also volunteered for the Red Cross. She was a communicant for many years at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Betty was an energetic, humorous, and fun loving person who will truly be missed by many. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leroy F. “Moose” Miller who was Called Home on January 22, 2013. They were married on January 19, 1963 at Saint Jerome Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 50 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving and devoted son, John S. Miller and his wife, Donna, of Weirsdale, FL; her loving daughter-in-law, Carol M. Miller of Cabot, AR; her sister-in-law, Joan Latour of Holyoke; her many cherished grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; and many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen J. Miller who was Called Home on March 3, 2018; her three dear sisters, Dorothy Blanchette, Henrietta Lawler, and Jean Cahill; and her four dear brothers, William, Edward, James, and Richard Latour. Family and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
