Obituary

WEBSTER - Deborah Fay (Goggins) Surozenski,74, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025 with her loving husband by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her greatest supporter and beloved husband of 51 years, Richard and by her children Lisa Millett and her husband Michael and Bryan Surozenski, all of Webster; two adored grandsons, Caleb and Jacob Millett; two sisters, Jacqueline Gouin of Rochdale and April Mellen and her wife Nancy David of Millbury; her aunt, Mary Dowell of California; her BFF of many years, Marje Charbonneau of Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Debbie was born on April 23, 1951 in the Whitinsville section of Northbridge, a daughter of the late John Goggins and Fay (Brown) Goggins Manning. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School and earned her LPN from the former Fanning School of Health Occupations.

She worked for many years at the Paul Revere Insurance Company in Worcester, St. Vincent Hospital and area nursing homes. She retired from the former Sandalwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oxford in 2013.

Debbie was happiest in the presence of family – especially her grandchildren. Prior to her illness, Debbie loved hosting family gatherings and holidays at her home where she enjoyed cooking delicious meals and baking a seemingly endless array of desserts for her family. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, loved her cats, enjoyed bird watching at the multiple bird feeders in the yard, and traveling. Some of her favorite destinations were Aruba, Las Vegas and Morocco.

Debbie was a member of Saint Louis Parish in Webster. She also was avid supporter of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and the MSPCA.

The family would like to thank Dr. Harold Burstein and Kelly Fischer NP at Dana Farber Cancer Institute Chestnut Hill location and all the professional staff involved with her care. Also, Debbie wished to thank her primary care physician Mary Hawthorne for her exceptional care for many years.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
