Mildred “Millie” H. Iverson, age 91, of East Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. Married for 63 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Norman L. Iverson.
One of six children, born in South Boston in 1934, Millie was a devoted homemaker who also worked various jobs while raising her three children. Family was the heart of Millie’s life — she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and found joy in hearing about their lives, accomplishments, and adventures.
Millie had a strong faith in God and lived her life with grace, kindness, and quiet strength. She was an incredibly talented crafter, known for her beautiful knitting, crocheting, floral arrangements, and handmade creations. She also enjoyed playing the piano — a talent she taught herself — and was an avid reader. Dining out and gathering with family were among her favorite pastimes, and her happiest moments were always those surrounded by loved ones.
She leaves behind her devoted children: Mark Iverson and his wife Diane of Whitman, Lynn MacKay and her husband George of Whitman, and Cathy Mallinson of East Bridgewater. She was a loving grandmother to Jillian Adams and her husband Devin of Braintree, Sarah Courtney and her husband Andrew of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Kristen MacKay of Whitman, and Lisa Pedranti and her husband Paul of East Bridgewater. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Avery and Caden Adams, Asher, Annabelle, and Samuel Courtney, and Nora and Dean Pedranti.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Millie’s life on Friday, August 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street (Rte. 58), Whitman, MA. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church in Whitman, followed by a burial in St. James Cemetery. There will be a procession gathering at the funeral home at 9:45AM.
Millie’s warmth, creativity, and deep love for her family will be remembered always.
