Raymond L. Phenix, Sr., 79, of Westport, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Garand) Phenix.
Mr. Phenix was born in Fall River, son of the late Leo and Annette (Coulombe) Phenix and had resided in Westport for most of his life. Prior to retirement, he worked as a mechanic and went on to become a teacher at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Fall River until retirement. He enjoyed tinkering with his antiques and his Plymouths but his greatest joy was spending time with family.
Survivors include his son: Raymond L. Phenix, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Tiverton; his 2 brothers: Norm Phenix and his wife Susan and Leo Phenix and his wife Chris, all of Swansea; sister: Lillian Caron and her husband Ron of FL; 3 grandchildren; Amanda, Bobby and Ryan; 2 great granddaughters: Madison and Ava; daughter-in-law: Cheryl Phenix; the entire Caramos Family; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Mary Ellen Phenix and Robert M. Phenix; brother of the late Bob Phenix and longtime companion of the late Katie Caramos.
The Phenix Family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the staff at Catholic Memorial Home for the compassionate care they gave to Mr. Phenix.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-10:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
